A Perfect Ball

The sun’s a perfect ball as it shines through the trees
It pleases me, as you used to say, Life is sweet
The snow is so white and it reflects this gorgeous light
I watch it falling, it sees me falling too
The birds know you’re gone and they sing their sad song
They don’t wait for Spring, like me, they sing for you
As you fly from world to world do you glimpse down at this girl
And do you know she’s still in love with you…

What’s a body to do, what’s a body to say
When love won’t go away?

The moon is so brave- alone in the dark until day
Like me, but where is my courage now
God makes the stars shine, taught atoms to bind
Forgot the broken heart… that’s why we had to invent time
Seasons come and go… for years now… I’ve been alone
I’ve been quiet… now hear my plea

What’s a body to do, what’s a body to say
When love won’t go away?

The sun’s a perfect ball, the snow is so white,
Birds know you’re gone as you fly from world to world
The moon is so brave, God makes the stars shine,
Seasons come and go…. won’t you have mercy on me
The sun’s a perfect ball…
